Question 7

A has thrice as much amount as that of B and B has 40% more amount than C. If the average of the amount of all three of them is Rs 1320, then what amount (in Rs) A has?

Solution

Let amount with C = $$Rs.$$ $$100x$$

=> B's amount = $$100x+(\frac{40}{100}\times100x)=Rs.$$ $$140x$$

=> A's amount = $$3\times140x=Rs.$$ $$420x$$

Average amount with the three = $$\frac{(100x+140x+420x)}{3}=1320$$

=> $$\frac{660x}{3}=1320$$

=> $$220x=1320$$

=> $$x=\frac{1320}{220}=6$$

$$\therefore$$ Amount (in Rs.) that A has = $$420\times6=Rs.$$ $$2520$$

=> Ans - (B)
