Question 69

The lengths of the diagonals of a rhombus are 16 cm and 30 cm, respectively. What is the perimeter of the rhombus?

Solution

The lengths of the diagonals of a rhombus are 16 cm and 30 cm, respectively.

perimeter of the rhombus = $$2\times\ \sqrt{\ \left(length\ of\ the\ diagonal_1\right)^2\ +\ \left(length\ of\ the\ diagonal_2\right)^2}$$

= $$2\times\ \sqrt{\ \left(16\right)^2\ +\ \left(30\right)^2}$$

= $$2\times\ \sqrt{\ 256+\ 900}$$

= $$2\times\ \sqrt{\ 1156}$$

= $$2\times34$$

= 68 cm
