If the sum of the amount he gives to his mother and that he invests in PPF is Rs.12,600/, how much is Shiva’s monthly salary ?

Solution

Shiva gave 20% of her monthly salary to her mother.Remaining is 80%

50% of 80% was invested in insurance and PPF in the ratio of 5:3
PPF = $$\frac{3}{8} \times $$ 40% of salary
Insurance scheme = $$\frac{5}{8} \times $$ 40% of salary
Remaining 40% of 65% was put in Bank account.
20% of his monthly salary and $$\frac{3}{8} \times$$ 40% of salary= 35% of his salary = 12600
Let his monthly salary be Rs.X
35% of X =12600
X = Rs. 36,000
Option A is the nearest answer.
