At 22% discount, the selling price of a Refrigerator is Rs 26000, what is the selling price if the discount is 40%?

Solution

Let Marked Price of the Refrigerator = $$Rs. 100x$$

If discount is 22%, Selling price = $$\frac{100 - 22}{100} \times 100x = 78x$$

According to ques, => $$78x = 26000$$

=> $$x = \frac{26000}{78} = \frac{1000}{3}$$

If discount is 40%, selling price = $$\frac{100 - 40}{100} \times 100x = 60x$$

= $$60 \times \frac{1000}{3} = Rs. 20,000$$

=> Ans - (D)
