Question 66

The table shows the number of candidates appearing for an interview for a post in six Banks (H, I, J. K, L, M) and the percentage of qualifying candidates.

What was the respective ratio of the number of candidates who qualified in bank H to the number of candidates who qualified in bank L?

Solution

The ratio of the number of candidates who qualified in bank H to the number of candidates who qualified in bank L = 1500 of 14% : 1200 of 28%

= $$15\times14$$ : $$12\times28$$

= $$5\times1$$ : $$4\times2$$

= 5:8
