Question 65

The following table indicates the number of students studying in three disciplines in five colleges:

What is the ratio of the total number of students studying in the science stream to that of studying in commerce stream in all five colleges taken together?

Solution

As per the given in the question,

total number of student studying in science stream in all five college $$=300+350+275+400+275=1600$$
total number of student studying in commerce stream in all five college$$=250+400+325+275+250=1500$$
Hence, the required ratio$$=\dfrac{1600}{1500}=\dfrac{16}{15}$$
