If 25% of half of x is equal to 2.5 times the value of 30% of one-fourth of y. then x is what percent more or less than y?

Solution

According to question,

x $$\times \frac{1}{2} \times \frac{25}{100} = y \times 2.5 \times \frac{1}{4} \times \frac{30}{100}$$

$$\Rightarrow \frac{x}{8} = \frac{3y}{40} \times 2.5$$

x = $$\frac{3y}{2}$$

x = $$\frac{3y}{2} \times 100$$ = 150% of y

x is 50% more than y.
