Given:

Mahesh’s salary is ₹12000 more than the Sumit’s salary.

Therefore the difference between Mahesh and Sumit's salary is 12000.

Also given that the ratio of their salary is 7:4

let Mahesh's salary be $$7x$$ and Sumit's salary be $$4x$$.

Difference of their salary can be written as $$7x - 4x = 12000$$

$$3x = 12000$$

$$x = 4000$$

The salary of Sumit is $${4}{x}$$ = $${4}\times{4000}$$ = $$16000$$
