If the total number of students is 60000, then the total number of students who did not pass in the courses A,C is:

Given,

Total number of students = 60000

Number of students who enrolled for the course A = $$\frac{18}{100}\times60000=10800$$

Number of students who didn't pass in course A = $$\frac{24}{100}\times10800=2592$$

Number of students who enrolled for the course C = $$\frac{20}{100}\times60000=12000$$

Number of students who didn't pass in course C = $$\frac{20}{100}\times12000=2400$$

$$\therefore\ $$Number of students who didn't pass in couses A and C = 2592 + 2400 = 4992

Hence, the correct answer is Option B
