Out of 90 students in a class, 60% are girls and rest are boys. The average score in English of boys is 30% more than that of girls. If the average score in English of all the students is 56, then what is the same for the girls?
out of 90 students 60% are girls means $$90\times\frac{60}{100}$$=54 girls
so boys=90-54
=>36
avg score in English of all students is 56
$$\frac{sum}{90}$$=56
sum=5040
The average score in English of boys is 30% more than that of girls.
Let's assume the average score in English of girls is 'y'.
the average score in English of boys = 130% of y = 1.3y
$$1.3y\times36+y\times54=5040$$
46.8y+54y = 5040
100.8y = 5040
y =Â 50
