8 men can make 12 chairs in 12 days if they work for 6 hours a day. If 9 chairs are to be make by 12 men in 6 days, then how many hours a day does each one of them need to work?
$$\frac{men_1\times days_1\times\ hours_1\ }{number\ of\ chairs\ made_1}=\ \frac{men_2\times days_2\times\ hours_2\ }{number\ of\ chairs\ made_2}$$
$$\frac{8\times12\times6\ }{12}=\ \frac{12\times6\times\ hours_2\ }{9}$$
$$2\ =\ \frac{\ hours_2\ }{3}$$
$$6\ =\ \ hours_2\ $$
The required time is 6 hours (each day) to make 9 chairs by 12 men in 6 days.
