Question 58

Find the height of a right pyramid if its base is a square of side 80 cm and the volume of the pyramid is 16000 cm$$^3$$.

Solution

volume of the pyramid = $$\frac{1}{3}\times\ area\ of\ base\times\ height$$

$$16000 = \frac{1}{3}\times(80)^2\times\ height$$ [As per the question, the base is in the form of a square.]

$$\frac{16000\times3}{80\times\ 80}=\ height$$

$$\frac{5\times3}{\ 2}=\ height$$
$$\frac{15}{2}=\ height$$
height of pyramid = 7.5 cm
