If a number is divided by 14, then it becomes equal to 10% of the second number. First number is how much percent more than the second number?

Solution

Let first number be $$14x$$ and second number be $$y$$

According to ques, => $$x=10\%$$ of $$y$$

=> $$10x=y$$

=> $$\frac{x}{y}=\frac{1}{10}$$

Let $$x=1$$ and $$y=10$$

Numbers are 14 and 10

=> First number is greater than second by = $$\frac{14-10}{10}\times100=40\%$$

=> Ans - (A)
