The average height of 8 persons decreases by 2.5 cm, when one person whose height is 170 cm is replaced by a new person. What is the height of the new person?
Solution
Since in the question a new person is replaced and so the average is decreased by 2.5 so let as say that each of the person has decreased their height by 2.5 and so total decrease is 2.5*8=20 cm.The person replaced should have the height less than 20 cm and so given height is 170 cm and so the height of the person who got replaced is 170-20=150 cmÂ
