Solution
The average age of 29 students in a class is 26 years.
total age of 29 students in a class = $$26\times29$$ = 754 years Eq.(i)
If the age of the teacher is also included, the average age of the class becomes 26.4 years.
total age of 29 students and teacher in a class = $$26.4\times(29+1)$$
= $$26.4\times30$$
= 792 years Eq.(ii)
Age of the teacher = Eq.(ii)- Eq.(i)
= (792-754) years
= 38 years
