Solution

Selling price of 48 articles when loss of 10% = 2160

Cost price of 48 articles = $$\frac{2160}{90} \times$$ 100 = 2400

Cost price of 1 article = 2400/48 = 50

Selling price of when profit of 12% = 2016

Cost price = $$\frac{2016}{112} \times$$ 100 = 1800

Number of articles = 1800/50 = 36
