If the length of the three sides of a triangle is 5 cm, 12 cm and 13 cm respectively, then calculate the length (in cm) of the median of side AC of the given triangle.
Solution
Sides of triangle = 5, 12 and 13 cm
Clearly, the given angle is a right angled triangle, $$\because (13)^2=(5)^2+(12)^2$$, where length of hypotenuse = 13 cm
Also, in a right angled triangle, length of median = half of hypotenuse
=> Median = $$\frac{1}{2}\times13=6.5$$ cm
=> Ans - (C)
