Question 42

Study the given pattern carefully and select the number from among the given options that can replace the question mark (?) in it.

(7, 9, 130), (11, 9, ?), (16, 8, 320)

Solution

In each set third number = $$\left(first\ number\right)^2+\left(\sec ond\ number\right)^2$$

(7, 9, 130)

third number = $$\left(7\right)^2+\left(9\right)^2$$

= $$49+81$$

= 130

(16, 8, 320)

third number = $$\left(16\right)^2+\left(8\right)^2$$

= $$256+64$$

= 320

(11, 9, ?)

third number = $$\left(first\ number\right)^2+\left(\sec ond\ number\right)^2$$

= $$\left(11\right)^2+\left(9\right)^2$$

= $$121+81$$

= 202

Hence 202 will come in place of the question mark.
