Question 41

The sum of the parallel sides of a trapezium is 12.4 cm. If the distance between the parallel sides is 3.5 cm, what is the area of this trapezium?

Solution

Sum of parallel sides of trapezium = 12.4 cm

Height of trapezium = 3.5 cm

Area of trapezium = $$\frac{1}{2} \times$$ (sum of parallel sides) $$\times$$ height

= $$\frac{1}{2} \times 12.4 \times 3.5$$

= $$6.2 \times 3.5 = 21.7$$ $$cm^2$$

=> Ans - (D)
