Question 30

A set of all possible values the function $$f(x)=\frac{x}{|x|}$$, where $$x \neq 0$$ takes is,

As already given $$X\ne0\ ,\ we\ can\ say\ either\ X\ can\ be\ positive\ or\ negative\ ,\ that\ is\ 2\ cases\ :$$

If x>0 :

|x| = x , Hence f(x) = 1 for x > 0.

Else if, x < 0:

|x| = -x , Hence f(x) = -1 for x < 0.

Therefore, {1,-1} are possible values of f(x).
