If the ratio of two numbers is 1:5 and their product is 320, then the difference between the squares of these two numbers is
Solution
Let the two numbers be $$x$$ and $$5x$$
Product = $$(x) \times (5x)=320$$
=> $$5x^2=320$$
=> $$x^2=\frac{320}{5}=64$$
$$\therefore$$ Difference between the squares of these two numbers
= $$(5x)^2-(x)^2=25x^2-x^2=24x^2$$
= $$24 \times 64=1536$$
=> Ans - (C)
