Find the curved surface area in $$cm^{2}$$ of a right circular cylinder of diameter 28 cm and height 12 cm.
Solution
Radius of cylinder, $$r=\frac{28}{2}=14$$ cm and height, $$h=12$$ cm
=> Curved surface area of cylinder = $$2\pi rh$$
= $$2\times\frac{22}{7}\times14\times12$$
= $$88\times12=1056$$ $$cm^2$$
