If the numbers from 4 to 55 which are divisible by 3 and also the numbers which contain 3 as one of the digits are removed, then how many numbers will be left ?

Solution

Numbers from 4 to 55 that are divisible by 3 = 6,9,12.....,54

=> Total nos. = 17

Numbers from 4 to 55 that contain digit '3' = 13,23,30,31,32.....53

=> Total nos. = 14

Numbers from 4 to 55 that are divisible by 3 and also contain digit '3' = 30,33,36,39

=> Total nos. = 4

Total numbers from 4 to 55 = 52

=> Required answer = 52 - (17+14-4) = 25
