Rs. 700 is divided among A, B, C in such a way that the ratio of the amounts of A and B is 2 : 3 and that of B and C is 4 : 5. Find the amounts in Rs. each received, in order A, B, C.

Solution

A:B = 2:3

B:C = 4:5

A:B:C = 8:12:15

amount received by A = 8/(8+12+15) * 700 = 160/-

amount received by B = 12/(8+12+15) * 700 = 240/-

amount received by C = 15/(8+12+15) * 700 = 300/-

so the answer is option B.
