Solution

let the missing number be y

here the given sequence is 12, 27, 85, 345, y

we can see that

27 = 12 x 2 + 3

85 = 27 x 3 + 4

345 = 85 x 4 + 5

So from the existing pattern ,

y = 345 x 5 + 6 = 1731
