Suppose cost price (cp) = $$x$$

then according to question $$1100 -x =3 (x-700)$$

$$\Rightarrow 1100 - x = 3x-2100$$

$$\Rightarrow 4x = 3200 $$

$$\Rightarrow x = 800 $$

so gain 12.5% profit

profit = $$\dfrac {12.5}{100}\times 800 $$

$$\Rightarrow 100 $$

so article must sold = 800 + 100 = 900 Ans
