The average of three consecutive odd numbers is 12 more than one third of the first of these numbers. What is the last of the three numbers?
Solution
Let's say numbers are $$a, a+2, a+4$$
So avg. will be $$\frac{(a+a+2+a+4)}{3} = \frac{a}{3} +12$$
Or a = 15
So numbers will be 15, 17, 19
