The salaries of Raju and Peter are in the ratio 3 : 5. If the salary of each is increased by ₹2,500, then the new ratio is 11 : 15. What is Peter's salary?
Given that the ratio of Raju and Peter = 3: 5
let proportionality constant constant be $$= x$$
So, Raju will get= $$3x$$
And Peter will get = $$5x$$
Now,
$$\dfrac {3x+2500}{5x +2500} =\dfrac{11}{15} $$(according to question, increased salary)
$$(3x +2500) \times 15 = (5x+2500) \times 11$$
$$\Rightarrow 45 x + 37500 = 55 x + 27500 $$
$$\Rightarrow 10 x = 10000 $$
$$\Rightarrow x = 1000 $$
Hence, peter's salary will be = $$5x$$ = $$ 5 \times1000 $$
peter salaries $$= 5000 $$Ans
