The average weight of 63 Notebooks in a box is 6.3 kg. When a new Notebook is added to the box the average goes to 6.4 kg. Find the weight of the new Notebook. (in Kg)

Solution

Average weight of 63 Notebooks in a box = 6.3 kg

=> Total weight = $$63\times6.3=396.9$$ kg

Let weight of new book = $$x$$ kg

=> New average = $$\frac{396.9+x}{64}=6.4$$

=> $$396.9+x=64\times6.4=409.6$$

=> $$x=409.6-396.9=12.7$$ kg

=> Ans - (B)
