Question 116

If the 5-digit number 538xy is divisible by 3, 7 and 11, then the value of $$(x^2 + y^2)$$ is:

Solution

As divisible by 3, 7, 11

means divisible by  $$ 3 \times 7 \times 11 $$

$$\Rightarrow 231 $$

then number $$231\times 233 $$

$$\Rightarrow 53823 $$

Hence $$x =2 , y = 3 $$

then  $$(x^2 + y^2) = 2^2 + 3^2 $$

$$\Rightarrow 4 + 9 $$

$$\Rightarrow 13 $$ Ans
