NPAT Admission Process 2026

In 2026, the NPAT admission process is going to be split into two different phases to give students maximum flexibility. NMIMS has a unique policy called “Best of Three,” which allows students access to the college by providing them with several opportunities to get their best score out of three test attempts.

Step 1: Online Application Process

Typically in January 2026 the online application will open and will continue until the end of the exam administration process. Candidates will have to create an online profile, as well as select their preferred testing categories (Commerce, Economics, Liberal Arts, etc.).

Step 2: Admission Test

The NPAT for 2026 is a computer-based test that is going to take 100 minutes. The NPAT is offered at designated locations. The NPAT has a similar "pattern" to other college entrance tests in that each test consists of three separate sections. Take a free NPAT mock test to understand the exam pattern

  • Quantitative Reasoning = 40 Questions
  • Logical Reasoning = 40 Questions
  • Verbal Reasoning = 40 Questions

The total number of questions on any NPAT exam is 120 Questions, with no penalization for incorrect answers.

Step 3: Retests

For this test, students may only take the NPAT three times (within the testing window from February to May of 2026). This will allow students who did not perform well on their first NPAT try to improve their scores by taking the NPAT test again.

Step 4: Merit Lists and Counseling

Unlike most entrance exams which use percentiles to identify student rankings, NMIMS uses a Campus-wise Merit List to identify admitted students. If a candidate’s rank on the Merit List is lower than the maximum number of students who will be enrolled at that campus, that candidate will receive an offer letter to attend that campus.

Co-operative A community will attest that based on historical data a firm minimum, non-negotiation point must be established to be eligible for admission; therefore we can estimate.

Safe Estimated Score: (0-120 scale.) The NPAT exam is normally a moderate grade (ie. there is no negative point for incorrect answers; the cut-off level of passing marks will therefore usually be higher than average).
