JIPMAT Exam Dress Code for Males: Do’s & Don’ts
Men make a frequent mistake of reporting in heavy shoes or multi-pocket clothing. In order to pass security quickly, JIPMAT male candidates should strictly follow these rules:
Do's:
- Simple T-shirts/ Shirts- Wear a plain full-sleeved t-shirt or a plain, full-sleeved shirt. A polo neck t-shirt, or a round-neck t-shirt without excessive brand logo is a good choice.
- Regular fitting pants-Wear normal straight-cut pants, simple jeans or track pants. They should be lightweight, with a simple elasticated waistband without a belt loop for easily passing security checks.
- Open flat footwear-Wear plain simple slippers or flat open sandals or thin flip-flops. Toes and feet need to be fully visible to the frisking officer.
Don'ts:
- Full-sleeved outfits-Don’t wear full-sleeved t-shirts, sweatshirts or track jackets. In case you come in full-sleeved t-shirts, you have to fold up the sleeves permanently or are rejected at the entry.
- Cargo pants, multi-pocket pants-Never wear pants with side pockets or heavy metal buckles and zips.
- Formal shoes/ Boots- Formal shoes, leather boots or heavy running shoes or sneakers are totally prohibited. In case you wear sports shoes with heavy foam within the shoe, you would be asked to remove them and write the 150-minute examination in bare feet.
- Accessories-All belts with metal buckles, metal chains, wrist bands and any metal in possession should be left at home.
JIPMAT Exam Dress Code for Females: Do’s & Don’ts
Candidates especially need to be careful about clothes with many layers of structural material, detailed designs and jewelry typically worn everyday.
Do's:
- Simple light tops- wear simple light cotton half-sleeved tops, t-shirts or non designer kurtis
- Simple lower wear- wear plain pants or simple straight fit jeans or plain leggings.
- Flat footwear-Wear very plain open sandals or simple slippers or flat open chappals.
- Simple hairstyles- Hair can be fastened simply with basic rubber bands, or with simple hair clasps/clutches.
Don'ts:
- Complex jewellery or metal- Leave all rings, earnings, nose-studs, bangles, heavy chains and metallic hair-pins or clips at home. They would set off the metal detector immediately.
- Surface ornamentation- clothes with complex zari work, heavy embroidery, reflective sequins, or any plastic or metal-buttons that are very big and elaborate are prohibited.
- Heels and platforms- No platform or wedge shoes, heeled shoes, stilettos and heavy heeled boots or sneakers.
- Multi-layered clothes-Avoid wearing heavy cardigans, shrugs, heavy formal dupattas or traditional wraps and cardigans that add many layers to your structure during scanning.
JIPMAT Exam Dress Code 2026: Exam Day Guidelines
The JIPMAT 2026 exam will be held from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM in Computer-Based Test mode. Keeping the key instructions in mind, you can navigate the exam timeline easily:
1. Mandated Timeline:
- Report To Exam Center: You must report at the exam center by 1:30 PM.
- Gate Closing Time: The gates to the exam center will close forever after 2:30 PM. No candidate will be permitted entry even one second past this time.
2. What to Carry (The Unnegotiables):
Pack these documents in a transparent, clear plastic folder, the night before the exam:
- JIPMAT 2026 admit card printout: The Admit card needs to be a clear and sharp color printout on an A4 sheet, to be downloaded from the official NTA website.
- Self Declaration form: You should fill the self declaration form completely with your name, address and left hand thumb impression; and carry it. You shouldn’t sign at home, as the signature needs to be done in front of the invigilator only.
- Original Photo ID Proof: A valid original photo ID card like an Aadhaar Card (print out of e-Aadhaar accepted), PAN card, passport, Voter ID, or driving license will be required. However, the photocopies or photos of the IDs on the cell phone won't be accepted.
- Two passport size photographs: Two passport size copies of the same photo uploaded with the application will be required, to be pasted at the given space on the attendance sheet.
- PwD Certificate (if applicable): The disability certificate along with scribe details will be required.
3. What's Allowed inside the Hall:
- A transparent blue/black ballpoint pen.
- A transparent water bottle.
4. In the Testing Lab:
- Biometric Registration: Your thumb print and photograph will be taken before you are allotted a workstation in the testing hall.
- Rough Work: You'll be provided with sheets of paper that are to be used for calculations only. These should be signed and submitted in a marked box on the way out.
- Technical Failures: If the system crashes during your exam, raise your hand and wait for it to be restored. Your timer will freeze until your system is replaced, and your overall test time will not be affected.

JIPMAT Exam Day Instructions 2026
Candidates should follow the guidelines at the exam day strictly as any violation might lead to their disqualification from the examination immediately and cancellation of results.
Before the Exam
- It is advisable that the candidate must download the JIPMAT admit card 2026 much before the exam date.
