How Is the JIPMAT Exam Centre Allotted?
Understanding how NTA allocates exam centres helps you make smarter choices while filling the application form. Here is the process, step by step:
Step 1 - Choose up to 4 cities during registration While filling the JIPMAT application form, you are asked to select up to 4 cities in order of preference. Your first choice is the one you most want; list the others as backups.
Step 2 - NTA allocates based on preference and availability NTA tries to give you your first-preference city. If seats there are full, you are moved to your second preference, then third, then fourth. If none of the four cities has availability, NTA assigns the nearest possible city.
Step 3 - City Intimation Slip is released Before the Admit Card comes out, NTA releases a City Intimation Slip. This tells you which city you have been assigned - but not the specific exam centre address. Use this to plan your travel in advance.
Step 4 - Admit Card has the centre address The actual exam centre address is mentioned only on the JIPMAT Admit Card. Download it from the official NTA JIPMAT website and verify all details carefully.
Step 5 - No changes after allotment Once the application correction window closes, your exam city is locked. You get one chance to change your city preferences - during the correction window that opens after the initial application deadline. After that, no changes are permitted.
