IPMAT 2026 Exam Day Instructions

There are several minor things that can cause a candidate to be denied the right to take the exam, such as arriving late to the exam room, not having their admit card, or carrying prohibited items into the examination.
Required Documents:
1. IPMAT 2026 Admit card (printed, A4 size). No candidate will be allowed into the exam hall without this admission ticket. So everyone must carry this hall ticket to the exam centre.
2. One valid government-issued photo ID such as Aadhaar Card, Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, Driving Licence.
3. One recent passport-size photo and it should be the same as the candidate used during registration.
4. Category Certificate (if applicable - SC/ST/PwD)
Reporting Time & Entry Deadlines:
There are numerous candidates who will take the IPMAT (multiple candidates) and the exam will take place over numerous time slots across numerous cities and numerous locations; thus, each candidate who takes the test must arrive at least 60 minutes prior to the designated time for that particular time slot. Exam centres will close approximately 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of the exam and as such no candidate that arrives after the designated closing time will be allowed entry into the examination. 3. Earphones, Bluetooth devices, or wireless devices
4. Written notes, books or printed material

Within the Exam Hall:
- Every Candidate has their own assigned computer terminal. Candidates may not change seats or terminals without permission.
- Candidates must only perform rough work on the scratch pad or whiteboard that is provided. Candidates must not do any rough work on the desk.
- Candidates must read all of the instructions that are displayed on the screen carefully during the 15 minute practice period before the exam clock starts.
- Candidates must remain quiet during their exam. If a candidate has a technical problem then the candidate should raise their hand.

The Two Pass Method
The two-pass procedure has proven to be the best method to address the section of the examination as part of the whole examination when used during the IPMAT examination:
1st Pass (Speed Round): Scan your way through all questions quickly. There are a total of 100 questions on the IPMAT examination therefore, candidates should find the answer to those questions within 60 seconds of their first visit. If the candidates feel the problems are more difficult then they mark the question for revisiting and answer them last. The candidates should try to answer all the easy questions first to get the easy points.
2nd Pass (Deliberate Round): Revisit the problems you have marked (on your first pass). For every difficult problem, take no longer than 90 to 120 seconds; however, if you are still unable to solve a problem with these two passes, move on. Don't allow one problem to take the time you should be using to solve three or more different problems.

Verbal Ability: A Time-Saver Section
Virtually every aspirant has a tendency to place this portion of the examination in a lower tier of importance in comparison to the other two portions of the examination, but what is the truth is that this will be the most strategic area of the examination to leverage for your own success. With the reading comprehension components of Verbal, use this method: read the questions first, and then you can use the skimming technique to search for key aspects of the information. Additionally, vocabulary and grammar questions (i.e., one-word substitutions, antonyms, etc.) should be answered in as little as 45 seconds. Targeted 32-35 correct questions with 90%+ accuracy within the Verbal portion of the examination.

IPMAT 2026 Last Minute Strategy
The final 48-72 hours leading to the day of taking the IPMAT 2026 are just as critical as every month throughout your study plan. What you accomplish now during this time will affect how you feel mentally and perform physically on the actual day.
48 Hours Before Test Day:
- Stop taking new practice exam materials and/or full-length exams. Your time to prepare is over, trust it and stay committed to your success.

- Sleep at least 7-8 hours prior to the day of taking your test. A fully rested brain will recall what it knows 40% easier than a tired one.
- Set several alarms but do not lay in bed worrying; you can’t change what you did during your preparation for the test by worrying the night before.
Exam Day Morning:
- Wake Up For At Least 2.5 Hours Prior To Your Reporting Time For The Exam.

What should I do on IPMAT Exam Day?
