IIM Bangalore UG Admission Test 2025

The IIM Bangalore UG Admission Test is the only entry point for the institute's new undergraduate degrees. These are four-year, honours-level programmes in Bachelor of Science in Economics and the Bachelor of Science in Data Science. The test measures a student's knowledge of core subjects. The syllabus is based on NCERT material from grades X, XI, and XII. The exam is structured to evaluate both analytical ability and comprehension. It is divided into three sections. Admission is extremely limited. Each programme will accept only 40 students. That is a total of 80 students for the first year. A small, focused group.

The most significant section is Quantitative & Data Interpretation. It contains 30 questions. This part of the test carries the most weight. Performing well here is essential for getting shortlisted. The other two sections are English Comprehension and Logical Reasoning. Each has 15 questions. The total time given is 120 minutes. Two hours. There is a penalty for wrong answers. For each incorrect response, one-third of the allotted marks is deducted. This system requires both speed and precision. A good score on this test is the first major hurdle to clear on the path to an interview.

IIMB UG Admission Test Date 2025

The timeline for admission is strict. There is very little flexibility. Applicants must follow the schedule precisely. The process for the August 2026 academic year starts in late 2025.

The schedule is tight. Notice the gap between the test and the interviews. It is only about one month. This has a major impact on the preparation strategy. Candidates cannot wait for test results before preparing for the interview. The personal interview is worth 40% of the final score. A significant portion. So, need to prepare for both simultaneously to reach the goal.
