The Indian Institutes of Management, also known as IIMs, are well-known for its management programmes, which include MBA, PGP, Executive MBA, and other degrees. List of Baby IIMs in India

IIMs are categorized based on the year of their establishment. Based on this, IIMs are either "Main" or "New" or "Baby" IIMs. The oldest IIMs are the 'Main' IIMs followed by 'New' followed by 'Baby' IIMs.

Naturally the older IIMs have higher repute, better placements and therefore, have higher percentiles. IIMs and MBA colleges in general are ranked higher if they are older. This however, is not necessary, a newer college can be ranked higher than an older college, as this blog explains later.
