At 13% discount the selling price of a oven is Rs 18000, what is the selling price if the discount is 27.5%?

Solution

Let Marked Price of the oven = $$Rs. 100x$$

If discount is 13%, Selling price = $$\frac{100 - 13}{100} \times 100x = 87x$$

According to ques, => $$87x = 18000$$

=> $$x = \frac{18000}{87} = 206.9$$

If discount is 27.5%, selling price = $$\frac{100 - 27.5}{100} \times 100x = 72.5x$$

= $$72.5 \times 206.9 = 15000.25 \approx Rs. 15,000$$

=> Ans - (C)
