Solution

The difference of difference of each consecutive terms are consecutive odd numbers.
17-16=1
21-17=4
30-21=9 and so on.
Difference of difference is
9-4=5
4-1=3 and so on.
Hence the next difference must be 9.
The difference between next number in the series and 46 must 9 more than 16 which is 25.
Hence the missing number is 71.
Hence Option C is the correct answer.
