Question 8

If 'J' is coded as '20' and 'BAT” is coded as '46' then how will 'CRICKET' be coded?

Solution

As per the question,

J is the 10th letter of English alphabet so 10\times22=20

Similarly,

B is the 2nd letter of English alphabet

A is the first letter of English alphabet

T is the 20th letter of English alphabet

Hence $$2+1+20=23$$ So, $$23\times2=46$$

So cricket will be coded CRICKET =$$3+18+9+3+11+5+20=69$$

Hence it will be coded as $$69\times 2 =138$$
