Question 77

Father is aged 3 times more than his son. After 8 years, he would be 2.5 times his son's age. Further after 8 years, what would be the ratio of his age to that of his son?

Solution

Let say, son's age= a.

So, Fathers age = 4a.

After 8 years,

$$4a+8=2.5\left(a+8\right).$$

or,$$1.5a=20-8=12.$$

or,$$a=8.$$

So, required ratio = $$\left(32+8+8\right):\left(8+8+8\right)=48:24=2:1.$$

C is correct choice.
