Solution

Let total work = L.C.M of 36&12 = 36units

A's efficiency = 36/36 = 1

B's efficiency = 36/12 = 3

To complete total work, i.e; 36 units of work,

both can take $$\frac{36}{1+3}=9$$ days

so the answer is option D.
