Question 64

The income of A is 25% more than that of B and the income of C is 65% less than the sum of the incomes of A and B. Income of C is what percent less than the income of A?

Solution

As per the condition,

Let the income of B is x Rs.

So, income of A $$=\dfrac{125x}{100}=1.25x$$

The income of A and B taken together = x+1.25x=2.25x$$

Income of C$$=\dfrac{2.25x \times 35}{100}=0.7875x$$

Hence the required percentage $$=\dfrac{(1.25x-0.7875x)\times 100}{1.25x}=\dfrac{0.4625x\times 100}{1.25x}=37\%$$
