The average of 10 numbers is P and the average of 4 of these numbers is Q. If the average of remaining numbers is R then which of the following is correct:

Solution

Given that average of 10 numbers is P.

i.e;sum of the value is 10P

given that avg of 4 of these numbers is Q

i.e; sum of the value is 4Q

also given that average of rest of the numbers (i.e, 6 numbers) is R

so sum of the value is 6R

sum of 10 numbers =sum of 4 numbers+sum of 6 numbers

10P=4Q+6R

simplifying this, we get  5P=2Q+3R

Therefore answer is option C
