One can work backwards and determine the day of 28 May in 2008

Number of days from 28 May to 4 October = 129 
129 divided by 7 gives remainder 3. 
So, if 4 October was a Saturday, then 28 May in same year has to be 3 days prior to Saturday i.e. Wednesday
