Two different positions of the same dice are shown below, the six faces of which are numbered 1 to 6. Find the number opposite to the face having 2.

Solution

In the above two dice 4 is common and 1,3,5,6 are in the adjacent surfaces of 4. So, they are not in the opposite surface of 4. So, 2 is at the opposite surface of 4. Alternatively, 4 is at the opposite surface of 2.
