Triangle PQR is such that PQ = 9cm, QR = 6cm, PR = 7.5cm and triangle PQR is similar to triangle XYL. If XY= l8cm, Find the value of YZ
Solution
Since the triangles are similar
taking the ratio of corresponding sides of these triangles
$$\frac{PQ}{XY}=\frac{QR}{YZ}$$
$$\frac{9}{18}=\frac{6}{YZ}$$
YZ=12cm
