In the following number series, two numbers have been put within brackets. Study the series carefully andselect the correct alternative with respect to the series.

Solution
The pattern followed in above statements is = $$n^3-1$$, where $$n$$ is natural number.
In the first bracket number, i.e. $$124=5^3-1$$
But, $$512\neq8^3-1$$
Thus, the first bracketed number(from the left) is correct and the second is incorrect.
