If the total number is 35000, then the difference between the numbers of literate male and literate female is
Total number of people in the state = 35000
Difference of % corresponding to literate male and literate female = 45-35 = 10%
$$\therefore$$ Difference between the numbers of literate male and literate female = $$\frac{10}{100} \times 35000$$
