₹ x invested at 9% simple interest per annum for 5 years yields the same interest as that on ₹ y invested at 7.5% simple interest per annum for 4 years. Find x : y.
Formula for Simple Interest :
$$Simple Interest = \frac{P \times r \times n}{100}$$
where
P = Principal
r = Rate of Interest
n = Number of years
According to question ,
$$\frac{x \times 9 \times 5}{100} = \frac{y \times 75 \times 4}{1000}$$
$$\frac{x}{y}$$ =$$\frac{75 \times 4}{10 \times 5 \times 9}$$= $$\frac{2}{3}$$
So , the answer would be Option b)$$\frac{2}{3}$$.
