A courier delivery man cycles 6 km South, then turns West and cycles 2 km West, then turns to his right and cycles 6 km, then turns West and cycles 8 km. Where is he now with respect to his starting position?

Solution

Let the  courier delivery man starts from point A and cycles 6 km South, then from B, he turns West and cycles 2 km West, then turns to his right towards north and cycles 6 km, then turns West and cycles 8 km to finally reach point E.

Thus, he is 10 km to the west of his starting position.
